FIGHTING PIRATE MARCHING BAND
Pinckney Community Schools are proud of a strong tradition in fine performing ensembles with excellent musical performances. The Fighting Pirate Marching Band strives to continue this excellence with a sense of individual, band, school, and community pride. The band has an active performing schedule and has performed across the state of Michigan. The band is especially active in the Pinckney Community, performing at the annual Memorial Day Parades, the Halloween Festival and other community events. The Marching Band serves as the performing ensemble at pre-game and half-time shows at all home football games. The band is a combination of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band and culminates in the show stopping Band-O-Rama performance every November. Members from both bands serve as Drum Majors, Section Leaders, and Band Staff. The student leaders are selected in the spring and are active in the programming, design, and coordination of the field show for the following fall, as well as the organization of the entire program. The band is joined by the magnificent Pirate Color Guard at every performance.
