Our next and last fundraiser for this trip is the Annual Poinsettia Sales. The band is planning to have a mass-selling day on Nov. 9th. We need strong parent and student participation for this to be a success.
Please note that if any deadlines are difficult to make, please contact the director via email (rash@pcs.k12.mi.us).
Parents wishing to Chaperone please contact the director via email. Chaperones will be considered on a first come first served basis. Please check the tour registration information on the website for chaperone costs.
Senior Night – Oct. 25th –
Friday, October 25th is Senior Night at Pirate Stadium. Parents of Seniors are requested to walk with their student as they are announced before the game. Please send Mr. Ash an email stating who will be walking with your student. Please arrive to the stadium no later than 6pm on the 25th.
Poinsettia Sale Coming Soon –
Our Annual Poinsettia sale is coming soon. On top of regular sales, we would like to pick a day and sell to local businesses. On Nov. 9th we need parent chaperones to drive small groups of students to sell poinsettias to businesses along M-36 and Grand River from 9am to 3pm. Remember that this is the last selling fundraiser for the year and we have a tour coming up in April. We need as many volunteers as possible.
CMU Instrument Day –
The CMU School puts on an annual instrument day where students get to experience working with college music professors. We take 2 students from each instrument group (i.e. saxophones, percussion, etc.) every year (CMU limits the amount of students we can take). We will be traveling via parent transportation to CMU on Nov. 22nd. We will leave the HS on the 22nd at 6:30am and arrive back at the HS around 5pm. Students can pack a lunch or bring money for food. The cost for the workshop is $20. Priority is given to those students who are upperclassmen.
Pep Band Friday –
There will be no pep band this Friday.
MSBOA Solo and Ensemble –
Your students will soon be given the opportunity to sign up for MSBOA Solo and Ensemble. The registration is due no later than Nov. 8th. This is a great opportunity to perform a piece and work with a professional adjucator. Solo’s $10 and Ensemble’s are about $8 per person. All soloists will need an accompanist. Please see the below link for more information.
