Director, Pinckney Community Schools Orchestras
A native of Beacon, NY, Mr. Campbell attended the University of Michigan on a clarinet performance scholarship and performed with the world famous Michigan Marching and Symphony bands. After finishing his degree in instrumental music education, he went on to earn a Master of Music (MM) degree in clarinet Performance from Morehead State University, serving there as graduate instructor in clarinet and conducting classes. His clarinet and conducting teachers have included, H. Robert Reynolds, Carl St. Clair, Dr. William D. Revelli, George Cavendar, Dr. Robert Hawkins, Dennis Zeisler, Dr. John Mohler and Dr. William Bigham.
Franklin Co. Schools in Frankfort, KY then called Jeffrey to his first position as band director for the county’s middle schools and assistant for two award winning high school band programs. Conducting sessions with Frederick Fennell of the Eastman School of Music were followed by his appointment as a high school band director for the Charles County Schools in Maryland.
His next musical travels took him to the Milan, Mi School district, again as high school band director, before coming to work with the Pinckney Community Schools in 1997. While here, he has helped guide the high school and middle school band programs as top caliber performing groups and began the orchestra program in the schools in 2003. During his 31 year career in teaching, Mr. Campbell has also held numerous posts as private clarinet instructor, performer, conductor, adjudicator, and clinician.
